Ryan Boxill, PhD MBA

President

Ryan Boxill, PhD MBA is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in New York and Massachusetts. He graduated from St. John’s University in Queens, New York at the age of 19. Dr. Boxill completed his Harvard Medical School Postdoctoral Fellowship training at the MGH-OCD Institute at McLean Hospital. Subsequently Dr. Boxill held dual clinical appointments at McLean Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital with a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Boxill holds an MBA from the University of Massachusetts in Boston with a specialization in Finance and he is also a certified trainer in Diversity and Intercultural Sensitivity.

Dr. Boxill is a highly skilled strategic professional with over 20 years experience in the healthcare industry who advances an organization’s mission with a balance of business expertise, strategic vision and operational leadership. He is a seasoned expert in turn-around initiatives, continuous improvement, behavioral health, wellness and clinical operations. He is adept at strategic planning, detailed analysis and operational problem solving. Additionally, Dr. Boxill has worked with organizations in areas such as new business model creation, accounting and finance, strategic investments, disaster mental health and national mental health policy development (Republic of Liberia).

Dr. Boxill ran and turned around one of the largest acute inpatient behavioral health operations in the state of Massachusetts which had a combined 388 acute inpatient psychiatric and detox beds. He also played integral roles in creating a new business model in addition to the design and implementation of innovative health and wellness programs at the state of Massachusetts’s largest private insurer, including a health and wellness initiative that received national recognition by being featured on NBC Nightly News. 

Sandra Best Bailly, MSW

Executive Coach & Business Consultant

Sandra Best Bailly is a leader with more than 20-years experience in management and professional positions in health plans, public health, healthcare delivery, higher education, and global collaboration.

Sandra is a professionally trained clinical social worker working with medically complex and chronically ill populations; phlebotomy, clinical laboratory and specialty testing; and health education. She has been an Associate Professor of Practice and Assistant Director of Field Education at Simmons since 2014. Prior to joining Simmons, Bailly was the Assistant Director of Field Education at Boston College's School of Social Work.  

Previously, Sandra led and managed a Project Management Office at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, held project management, clinical quality management, and case management roles in other Blue Cross Blue Shield Association health plans at Premera Blue Cross and The Regence Group’s Regence Blue Shield in Washington State.  

Drawing on a wealth of experience in managed behavioral health care, direct service delivery, and health education, Sandra's perspective as a CTI-trained leadership coach is firmly rooted in social justice and humanity in achieving business results. Sandra’s coaching focuses on strategic/business planning & monitoring, business development, execution, resource and budget management, program development/management, project management and consulting services, administration and performance/evaluation.   

Her personal interests include: creating solutions towards improving healthcare disparities, advancing global health and intercultural exchange, K-12 education, healthcare, health plan and community partnerships. 

Sandra is particularly engaged in early and mid-career talent development and career transitions with a keen awareness of intersectionality and its place in leading for success.

She holds a bachelor’s degree and Community Health Program certificate from Tufts University and a master’s degree in social work from Simmons University (formerly Simmons College). Bailly also holds a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from City University, Bellevue, WA and is a fellow of UMASS Boston's Center for Collaborative Leadership's Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) as well as a fellow of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC)'s Mid-level Leader's Strengthening the Pipeline Program.  

Patrick T. Smith, PhD

Healthcare Ethicist

Patrick T. Smith, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Theological Ethics and Bioethics at Duke University Divinity School and a Senior Fellow with the Kenan Institute for Ethics, Duke University. Dr. Smith also serves as associate faculty with the Trent Center for Bioethics, Humanities, and History of Medicine at the Duke University School of Medicine. Before coming to Duke, Dr. Smith held an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School through the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine. He was core faculty for the Master of Bioethics degree program offered through Harvard’s Center for Bioethics. In addition to his work with the Center for Bioethics, he was a principal faculty member for the Initiative on Health, Religion and Spirituality, an interfaculty initiative across Harvard University.

Dr. Smith has worked professionally as the director of the ethics department for Angela Hospice Care Center in Livonia, Michigan. He has served on the Ethics Advisory Council for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and on the board for the Hospice Palliative Care Association of Michigan. He also was an Ethics Associate of the Boston Children’s Hospital’s ethics committee. He has served on the board of directors of organizations working for the common good and more equitable social arrangements such as YW Boston, which aims to empower women and eliminate racism. He also contributed thought leadership by serving on the board of a community development corporation, which supports local communities through building affordable housing, engaging in advocacy work, and providing education on housing policies and practices. Dr. Smith currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities.
